Treasure!
My desire for treasure came to light a lot sooner then I expected. Later, in the same day, some horned tree things appeared. I probably should have tried to detect magic or look up my little manual of Dangerous Beasts, but I panicked and did a Mind Stab, causing critical damage. Morgan realised that they are actually treasure hunters and collectors, so I feel better about my rash reaction. They grabbed Yaval, which mildly amused me. I went ahead and stabbed one of the ones who grabbed him though. Ro-Terrus brilliantly shot an arrow nearly into my wings. I wish I had an "accuracy spell" for him! The Tree Beasts finally dropped Yaval from 60 feet in the air, but fortunately (I guess), Morgan cast a Safe Fall spell.

I turned invisible (my first invisibility experience!) and followed the beasts to treasure. I was very excited about this and went to tell the others. It took some convincing since they couldn't see me, but they finally followed. While the others fought, I sneaked in the treasure and started grabbing gems and gold pieces. I've never seen so much treasure at once! Now I must come to a decision, should I take some and hide them from the others, then split it? Or be honest and split everything up. Morgan's very observant. I'm afraid that he'll see the gems even if I fly them away. *sigh* They're so beautiful too. I had probably better be honest though because they'll get suspicious if I have too many valuables.

More Rhodin...and a friend
The guys apparently have information of a possible location for the ring. Of course it's not here in the Keep! That would be too easy. So we're heading back through the Floating Forest, this time more northeasternly. It's not as travelled, so it's more likely that we'll see Rhodin, or at least we were warned of that.

It was true. I wasn't as effective with these Rhodin as in times past. I was a bit disappointed in myself. I hate to admit it, but Yaval was actually quite helpful, although sometimes I think his horse is more helpful. At least the horse smells better. I would suggest a flea bath to Yaval, but I'm a little nervous about even approaching him. Perhaps I'll hint to Ro-Terrus to suggest something. I've noticed that Yaval has this odd appreciation of Giants. Nobody else, mind you. It's very weird. I mean, Ro-Terrus is very cool and has a very nice shoulder, but definitely needs more bow practice!

Some suspicious characters ran across us during the night watch (Cathar's watch). They aren't exactly up on news as they thought the Keep was still overrun with Rhodin and they though we were aiding them. HELLO! Do you NOT see the Litorian in our presence? Perhaps a class in Species would be good for them. I finally cast a Charm spell on the leader and they grumpily left. I don't think they were entirely convinced, but I wanted more sleep, so I didn't do anything further, except sleep.

We met a Verrick the following day around sunset. Since I speak Verrick, I was tempted to fly up and and speak to her in Verrick, but I was suddenly overwhelmed with shyness. I detected magic in her bag, so I did get the courage to ask her about it. She was very friendly and appeared to be very in tuned with nature. The following morning, she gave me a magical hazelnut that gives me the grace to save myself. It's actually Saving Grace for my fortitude, reflexes, or will for 3 minutes after I eat it. I was quite touched by the gesture. Some day I would like to come back and study nature with her.

The Keep - for a short time at least
While the shopping was nice, we spent far too short of time within civilised walls. It's been out of the hands of the Rhodin such a short time that it's really not all that civilised yet anyway. The fellows were sweet enough to buy me a scarf. They apparently missed the last fashion scroll since they bought me a bright red wooly scarf. Ah well. I paid them the gold piece that the scarf cost them. It will at least keep me warm. I received 40 gold piece for my portion of returning the scout. I believe it when they say money corrupts. I'm feeling quite rich and unsharing at the moment. I started out with 1000 gold pieces, and after my initial travel purchases, I took the remaining gold pieces and converted them into jewels...worth 888 gold pieces. Since then I've accumulated 145 gold pieces (minus the one for the scarf). I hope we happen upon more treasure. The ring quest is cool and everything, but I personally find treasure quite fascinating. I think part of my lesser interest in the ring is because I'm not quite sure of all the background with it.

Enlightenment
We continued through the Floating Forest, coming upon Sleep Dogs. The guys are quite brave, but equally susceptible to the Sleep Dogs. All the dogs have to is lick them and they started falling asleep. My flying came in very handy here. It seems ironic that the little dogs caused so much damage to warriors that take down much bigger foes. This made me ponder my own abilities. Being small is no easy task. I know I'm helpful to the warriors and have my own special abilities, but I still feel inadequate in many respects, mostly due to my size; however, upon observation of how these dogs were able to bring down Big Smelly Dog (aka Yaval), I can see that strength is not everything.

I went into meditation in order to put myself into perspective. I found within myself the ability to go invisible - only for a short time (about an hour), but still, it's invisible. Through the recent travels, I've noticed my slightly improved dexerity, but I am more excited with my invisibility insight. I know other spryte who have this ability, but always figured it as the cowardly way out. Now I am thinking that it's far more strategic. The others have armour. This is my armour.

Gorgeous Sprytes and Horrible Beasts
The next couple of days led to hellhounds, rats, and a very cute Dark Spryte. The hellhounds scared me very badly, and I flew clear of them after poking a couple down. The Worgs weren't much better. The joy of practicing magic is that it can be done high in the air, and not in front of them like the rest.

I suspect that the gorgeous Dark Spryte cast a spell on me, because I know better than to trust them, but I couldn't resist living in his eyes. He lives in the Forest, and didn't have much to say except to confirm what we already knew. I suppose I should have detected magic, but he was so cute.

The guys fought some rats during the night. I was very tired, so I rolled over and went back to sleep. The next morning I got 106 gp from Morgan's cache find in the caves. Most of my money is in jewels so I was able to carry it, fortunately.

Warning: Hackerbeasts are not cool. When Morgan and Cathar say to run, I suggest running. The smelly Yaval took a lot of hits, making Morgan and I both cast healing spells, and he's still not fully recovered. I am now completely exhausted and looking forward to sleeping the rest of the way on Ro-Terrus' shoulder. Somebody had better wake me up if he gets into a fight. He gets damaged a lot.

The Caves
The Caves were of course protected by the Rhodin. The experience of getting into the caves made me very aware of Cathar's intense hatred of Rhodin. Yaval just likes the art of killing, but Cathar has this death wish for the Rhodin...not that the Rhodin are cool anyway though. My touch sword seemed to be handy in helping get down the huge beasts that was intent on killing off Ro-Terrus. We found some magical scrolls and there was some sort of magic on the wall, but I couldn't make it out.

Lots of Rhodin women and children were in the caves, and to Cathar's apparent dismay, we did not hang around to anniliate them. We did find a human that was bound in the cave. He had been there three weeks, and was a scout for some dude at the Keep. He said that the Rhodin took the ring from a mage who carved the tablets, but was killed. After a lot of begging and pleading from the scout to take him back to the Keep, we finally elected to drag him along. He seems fairly useless, but who knows.

All the big guys got back on their horses and I settled onto Ro-Terrus' shoulder for the ride back through the Floating Forest to Eboring's Keep. Morgan saw a spider during the night, but nothing came of it.

Background
I'm not too sure what's going on, except that Yaval, Ro-Terrus and I met up with Morgan and Cathar in the Floating Forest. They are on a mission to find a ring (Ebon ring) that was stolen by the Rhodin. They know of a secret cave entrance where it may be held on th edge of the mountains outside of the forest. Since Yaval, Ro-Terrus and I don't really have anything else to do, why not? Adventure is, after all, while we're out here.

Vormeili's Beginning

Once a Loresong Faen, I have now metamorphosised into a Spryte...a mindwitch Spryte at that. At the young age of 50 I want to go find adventure, since it hasn't come to me so far. Taller than most Sprytes by a whole 3 inches (1'3"), superiority is a complex that I battle, but in the light of my travel companion sizes, my superiority has been stripped forever. However, I am much prettier than all of them, and make sure that my clothes are always stylish and updated.

Travelling companions:
Cathar (Litorian)
Morgan (human)
Ro-Terrus (Giant)
Yaval (Sibeccai)

Yavel smells funny most of the time. My goal for each day is to not breath as I fly by him. He thinks he has good hygiene, but when he takes that armour off...*phew* I feel safe with Ro-Terrus, as his shoulder is my resting spot. I have learned to stay away from him in battle though, because he has a bad habit of getting hurt. Morgan likes to heal people, which is nice because I can use my spells for other things, unless Ro-Terrus or Yaval decides to really maim themselves.

A spunky spryte-witch that stands at 1'3" ventures out into the unknown from her Harrowdeep home. Vormeili wants to be worldly wise and magic smart.
